ABOUT US

To fulfill the university's vision of becoming a "Partner University for Enterprises" and to respond to the global trend of internationalization in higher education, the International Language Center (ILC) was established in February 2005. The Center is dedicated to managing university-wide foreign language education, enhancing students' language proficiency, boosting international competitiveness, and promoting academic and cultural exchanges. To this end, the ILC is responsible for planning and executing various English and second foreign language curricula, organizing language proficiency tests, hosting competitions, and coordinating extracurricular cultural activities to cultivate a rich language-learning environment and expand students' international perspectives.

Education Goal

To respond to the global trend of internationalization in higher education, the International Language Center (ILC) was established to manage all foreign language education affairs. Our mission is to strengthen students' language proficiency, enhance their international competitiveness, and promote global academic and cultural exchange. To achieve these goals, the ILC is responsible for planning and implementing university-wide curricula for English and second foreign languages. Furthermore, the Center organizes various language proficiency tests, competitions, and extracurricular language activities to cultivate a vibrant campus-wide learning environment and broaden students' global perspectives.

MISSIONS

◙ To plan, integrate, and coordinate the university’s instructional, research, and service resources related to English and foreign language education.

① Organizing various English language competitions.
② Appointing and evaluating the teaching and administrative performance of full-time, part-time, and contract English faculty.
③ Formulating and assessing the effectiveness of the university’s English certification promotion initiatives.
④ Maintaining and managing software and hardware facilities within the language laboratories and the Language Learning Navigation Center (LLNC).
⑤ Planning and scheduling various English and foreign language tutoring courses for the Language Learning Navigation Center (LLNC).
⑥ Formulating the university’s English and foreign language education policies, implementation strategies, and action plans.

◙ Language Training and Assessment Services

① Managing university-mandated English courses for undergraduate students.
② Facilitating English proficiency examinations for faculty, students, and staff.
③ Securing the right to co-organize various English proficiency exams within the Changhua region.

◙ Language Testing Services

① Conducting English placement pre-tests for freshman English courses.
② Assisting faculty, students, and staff in participating in English proficiency examinations.
③ Securing authorization to co-organize various levels of English proficiency exams in the Changhua region.
④ Seeking opportunities to co-host diverse domestic and international language proficiency certification exams.
